內容簡介
《殷周金文集成釋文》由中國社會科學院考古研究所編輯，是為《殷周金文集成》所收全部銘文而作的釋文。
本書所釋銘文11,993篇，約十二萬字，再加上說明文字和圖版，大約相當五百萬字所佔篇幅。考慮讀者的需要和經濟承受力，擬編成大十六開平裝六本。此書最為便利之處是將《集成》全部拓本圖版縮小附於每器釋文之旁，並附必要的說明（如時代、出土、現藏等）。因此，此書既可以滿足各界專家學者研究的基本需要，也可以為一般讀者學習和了解青銅器銘文，提供一部較為準確的讀本。
《殷周金文集成》共計十八分冊，是八十年代至九十年代，中國社會科學院考古研究所陸續出版的大型青銅器銘文匯編而成，與《甲骨文合集》十三分冊，同屬國家社會科學重點研究整理項目，其完備程度超過任何一部金文書籍，並連續數年榮獲國家多種優秀科研獎。
《集成》收錄的銘文資料，從殷周到春秋、戰國時期，各類青銅器，年代下限斷至秦統一以前，也包括宋代以來各公私著錄、海內外主要博物館和各地新出土的，以及尚未發表的發掘和採集品，時間下限至一九八五年。其中對傳世著錄器物去偽存真，錯誤糾正，是一部翔實準確的先秦青銅器銘文資料彙編。
Subsequent to the epoch-making publication of The Collection of Yinzhou Bronze Inscriptions during the 1980s and early 1990s by the Academy of Social Sciences in Beijing, the original authors have recently undertaken to transcribe these same bronze inscriptions into Chinese characters.
This six-volume
set will be published by the Institute of Chinese Studies, and distributed
by The Chinese University Press of The Chinese University of Hong Kong in
October, 2001.

本書乃根據香港中文大學中國文化研究所一九九六至二零零一年間建立的「甲骨文全文電子資料庫」而編纂的一部甲骨文字形總表。該表收集了近廿年來海內外七種甲骨著錄，近五萬餘片甲骨文的文字。編著者在姚孝遂主編的《殷墟甲骨刻辭類纂》字形總表的基礎上，對甲骨文字重新作了一次整體性校勘和整理，補缺大量《類纂》字形表中遺漏未收的新字和異體字，並且糾正了多個誤摹、重複字形，耗時五年才得以完成。作者對每個字的勘定均檢校再三，力求精確，以令甲骨學者能藉之以全面掌握甲骨文資料，並為其準確科學考釋提供可靠依據。此書不失為甲骨學者必備工具書之一。
The content of this book is based on the Computerized Database of Oracular Inscriptions on Tortoise Shells and Bones established by the Institute of Chinese Studies of CUHK, spanning five years from 1996 to 2001. Building on the Table in Yinxu Jiagu Keci Leizuan edited by Yao Xiao Sui, the compilers re-collated and re-arranged all Jiagu characters. A number of previously unrecorded Jiagu characters were added and some mistakes were emended. The compilers strove for precision in order to provide a comprehensive resource of ancient writing and creditable data for scientific study. It is indeed indispensable tool for Jiagu scholars.
