漢達古文獻資料庫中心網頁成立

        本中心網頁已於六月廿八日成立，網址為http://www.chant.org。 首批上網的是魏晉南北朝傳世文獻資料庫子部釋家類文獻，約共四百四十萬字。
資料庫將依下列次序陸續上網：

  1. 先秦兩漢至魏晉南北朝一切傳世文獻，共九百種，約三千二百萬字，將於1999年分期上網。
  2. 竹簡帛書（約一百二十萬字）及甲骨卜辭（約一百萬字）預計於2000年分期上網。
  3. 金文資料庫（約二十萬字）預計於2004年前上網。

本網頁首半年免費提供服務，自一九九九年一月一日起開始網上收費服務，首年年費如下：

竹簡帛書電腦資料庫出版消息

        由饒宗頤教授及陳方正博士主持之「中國出土簡牘及帛書電腦資料庫計畫」，目前已完成建庫工作，總共輸入約一百二十萬字，本中心將於一九九九年初出版電子版資料庫，包括以下九種圖書：

  1. 《馬王堆漢墓帛書（一）》
  2. 《馬王堆漢墓帛書（三）》
  3. 《馬王堆漢墓帛書（四）》
  4. 《武威漢簡》
  5. 《睡虎地秦墓漢簡》
  6. 《銀雀山漢簡（一）》
  7. 《居延漢簡釋文合校》
  8. 《武威漢代醫簡》
  9. 《散見簡牘合輯》

        一套共九種圖書之光碟定價為HK$2000/US$250（郵費另計），本中心將於十月中起於網上接受認購，如於本年年底前認購可獲八折優惠，詳情請留意網上公布。



《魏晉南北朝古籍逐字索引叢刊》出版計畫

        由劉殿爵教授、陳方正博士、何志華教授主持之「先秦兩漢至魏晉南北朝傳世文獻資料庫」已經完成建庫工作，當中魏晉南北朝古籍資料庫計畫始於一九九一年，至今已完成大部分輸入工作，合共約二千四百萬字，本中心將於一九九九年起分期出版《魏晉南北朝古籍逐字索引叢刊》，首三輯《叢刊》主要為子部及別集類文獻：

CHANT Database now available on the Internet

        The CHANT Database had been released on the web on 28 June 1998. In Phase 1, 38 titles of Buddhist texts of the 221-589 AD period totalling 4.4M characters can be viewed and searched at http://www.chant.org free of charge.
The database would be released by phases as follows:

  1. All 900 titles of traditional texts from antiquity up to 589 AD, 32M characters, to be released by phases during 1999.
  2. 9 titles of texts on bamboo/silk, 1.2M characters, and the COMPLETE Shang oracular bone inscriptions, 1M characters, to be released by phases during 2000.
  3. Zhou bronze inscriptions totalling 0.2M characters will be integrated into the CHANT database and released by the early 2000's.

Fee-charging subscription policy will be implemented on January 1, 1999, details are as follows:

Local, Macau and Taiwan user HK$400/yr/machine HK$600/yr/machine
Mainland user RMB200/yr/machine RMB300/yr/machine
Overseas user US$100/yr/machine US$150/yr/machine

Institution with 4 or above machines registers at the same time will be entitled to a 20% discount. Subscription will be started in October and subscription form can be downloaded from the web.



Publication of the Computerized Database of the Excavated Wood/Bamboo and Silk Scripts

        This project undertaken by Prof. Jao Tsung I and Dr. Chen Fong Ching has achieved in building a computerized database of all available wood/bamboo and silk texts, mainly of the late Warring State and Chin-Han periods. The database includes the following nine items:

  1. Mawangdui hanmu boshu (I)
  2. Mawangdui hanmu boshu (III)
  3. Mawangdui hanmu boshu (IV)
  4. Wuwei hanjian
  5. Shuihudi qinmu hanjian
  6. Yinqueshan hanjian (I)
  7. Juyan hanjian shiwen hejiao
  8. Wuwei handai yijian
  9. Sanjian jiandu heji

        The database is approximately 1.2M characters in size, and will be published in the form of CD-ROM by early 1999. The price of the whole set is HK$2000/US$250 (postage exclusive). Subscription will be started in mid October on the web and a 20% discount will be offered before 31 December 1998. For further information, please refer to the web.



Publication of the ICS Concordance Series: Texts from the Six Dynasties

        The project undertaken by Prof. D. C. Lau, Dr. F. C. Chen and Prof. Ho Che Wah, entitled 毣 Computerized Database of the entire body of extant Wei-Jin and the Northern and Southern Dynasties (220-589 AD) Traditional Chinese Texts* has been completed. It was started in 1991 and up to now, 24M characters have been input. The database will be published in print form starting from 1999. The first three series include philosophical works and collected works of famous writers:-
